Don't Create boundaries

A very inspirational incidence happened when the Pandavs were quenching from thirst .So they decided that the youngest Pandav - Sahdev should go in search of water. Sahdev found an oasis and started to drink ,suddenly he was stopped by an egret (bagula) .The egret said that he can drink the water and even take water for his brothers only if he answers a simple question asked by the egret.

Sahdev refused the offer and said that it was his right to drink water from the oasis and he will not answer any question. The egret became angry and killed Sahdev. After waiting for a long time another Pandav - Nakula went in search of his youger brother -Sahdev.

Nakula also reached the oasis and found Sahdev dead, lying near the oasis.

Nakula being thirsty went on to drink water from the oasis.The egret again appeared and put the same offer in front of Nakula. Nakula too as arrogant as his brother refused the offer and was killed by the egret. Similar fate happened with the Next two Pandavs- Bhim and Arjun.

Finally Yudhistra went in search of his 4 younger brothers and reached the oasis.Yudhistra was too given the same offer by the egret.However unlike his younger brothers he accepted the offer and agreed to answer all the questions asked by the egret.The egret was elated by Yudhistra and in return promised him the life of any one of the brothers.Egret asked which brother would you like to brink back to life ?.Yudhistra answered - Nakula. The egret exclaimed that why was Yudhistra keen on making Nakula alive (Nakula being a very average fighter)  rather than Bhim or Arjun( who were great warriors and help him get the kingdom back.).Yudhistra gave a very interesting answer: My Mother Kunthi has her eldest son (ME) alive however my stepmother Madri has no son alive , So if her son Nakula is brought back to life My stepmother will also be happy.

This shows the transformation in the thinking process of Yudhistra.Before the exile period,when the Pandavs were playing the gambling match Yudhistra played the first bet on Nakula rather than Arjun or Bhim.Because at that point of time he considered Bhim and Arjun(sons of his own mother Kunthi) more close to him in comparison to Nakula and Sahdev (sons of his stepmother Madri) .As the first bet is always played on the commodity which is less dearer to oneself.This incident clearly shows that Yudhistra considered Nakula and Sahdev less dearer to him.

A good king or a leader always thinks about ALL of his people rather than the things that are dearer to him.There should be no boundary about who is more important and who is lesser.
